Pushing the Boundaries of the Cello – Zachary – Room 3 – 10:00 am

The cello is one of the most versatile of the stringed instruments because of its large range and full and rich tone. In this demonstration, Zachary will show off some of the unique styles a cello can play. Also at the end, there will be time for any questions you may have about styles, selecting music, lessons, or cellos in general.

So, your instrument needs repair and you wonder, "can’t I just fix this myself"? Kevin will show you some of the smaller setup-related adjustments you can do yourself, and go over some larger repair issues that you should bring into the shop to let the experts take a look at.

Restringing demonstration and free strings! – Showroom – 1:15 pm

Every string player should know how to change their strings, but it can be scary. Demonstration will cover every step for replacing strings. Bring your instrument! The first 3 people to sign up will get a free set of strings installed! Choose from Prelude or Alphayue for violin. If you want a different string (or instrument), take $20 off any other string brand for any instrument. To be fair, no early registrations before 10:00 on the day of the event, and you must be present with your instrument in order to have the new strings installed. This free offer is limited to the first 3 people to sign up, and there will also be a waiting list in case anyone is not present when called.

In this demonstration, Kevin will go over proper bow care in order to ensure that your bow has a long life and keeps you playing.
