Label reads: "Made by Wm. Kretzschmar violinmaker, Graduated from the Academy of violin-making Markneukirchen, Germany, Guaranteed handmade after the genuine Antonius Stradivarius Cremona fecibat anno 1681"

Nice example of work from this fine school in the early 1900s. Violin has a warm-brown finish, wide grain spruce top, medium-flamed maple back with sides and neck of plainer wood, ebony fittings. Violin has a fair amount of wear around the edges, and although it doesn't appear to have any cracks, it does have several dings and indentations on the top, lower portion of the back from playing, a print on the left upper potion of the scroll, and the initials "LPK" etched into the neck button. See photos. Overall this violin is in good condition, and plays very well.
